1. Introduction

The Famly Children's Champion is an award that recognises the important work of Early Years staff across the UK and Ireland.

Submissions may be made between December 13th and January 31st, 2021. The winner will be announced live on March 31st, 2021. A panel made up of Famly employees will evaluate the submissions along with looking into amount of votes and decide on a shortlist of 10 finalists. The winner will then be chosen from this shortlist by a panel consisting of Early Years industry experts, a full list of which can be found here.

  • The promoter is Famly ApS whose registered office is in Copenhagen, Denmark.
  • The competition is open to residents of the United Kingdom and Ireland only.
  • This is a ‘free draw’ competition, and as such there is no entry fee or purchase necessary to enter.
  • By entering this competition, an entrant is indicating their agreement to be bound by these terms and conditions.
  • The term ‘Early Years setting’ is used as a broad term to encompass childminders, preschools, nurseries, after school clubs and nursery groups.
  • The term ‘Early Years professional’ is used as a broad term to encompass individuals working across the Early Years including practitioners, child minders, teachers.
  • The term ‘we’ relates to Famly as a company and our actions during this campaign.
  • One winner will be selected as well as a shortlist of 10 finalists.

2. Eligibility

To be eligible the nominator must:

  • be at least 18 years old at time of entry.
  • know the nominee either by working together or have had the nominee care for their child.
  • be based in the United Kingdom or Ireland.

  • work in an Early Years setting.

3. How to enter

To enter, nominators must complete the application form on behalf of their nominee and follow the instructions here.

4. Selection Process

  • The panel of Early Years industry experts will evaluate submitted applications based upon a selection criteria.
  • Employees from Famly will draw up a shortlist of submissions, based on the Selection Criteria. Nominees must be contactable for us to get additional details if chosen.
  • The shortlisted submissions will be anonymised to avoid bias, and then presented to our panel who will discuss the different submissions together.
  • Each panelist will, following on from the discussion, cast their vote for the Early Years professional who they feel should win based on the criteria.

5. Awarding the Prize

  • One winner will be selected to receive the prize of £5,000, the shortlisted participants will receive prizes from our promotional partners (the details of the shortlist prize is yet to be confirmed).
  • The winner’s cash prize will be paid to them by direct bank transfer. Any fees, charges, exchange losses or taxes payable as a result of receiving a cash prize are the responsibility of the winner.
  • The winner is responsible for declaring their winnings as income when reporting their tax.

6. Conditions and Limitations

  • By submitting a nominee, the nominator agrees to receive Famly’s weekly Early Years newsletter.
  • By accepting a nomination and thereby confirming you agree to your name, submitted image and story summary being made public. You will be able to see the submission to be made public before your confirmation.
  • By entering the contest, thereby responding and confirming that you would like to take part, and subsequently as a nominee, the winner and shortlisted finalists agree to be involved in Famly’s promotional efforts including (but not limited to) the use of submitted photos and videos, taking part in interviews for articles and participation in webinars.
  • By responding and confirming via email they would like to take part, the winner and shortlisted applicants agree to the use of their name and image in any publicity material, as well as their entry being made public.
  • If a shortlisted nominee is unreachable and thus not available to provide more details relating to their story, their submission will be taken out of the running and will not be considered.
  • Famly is not responsible for any incomplete or lost applications. Applicants will receive a confirmation email to certify that their application has been received.
  • Applicants will not be reimbursed for any costs incurred in connection with submitting their application.
  • The competition and these terms and conditions will be governed by Danish law and any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England.
  • Any personal data relating to the winner or any other entrants will be used solely in accordance with our data privacy policy and will not be disclosed to a third party without the entrant’s prior consent.
  • Famly retains the right to modify or update the terms and conditions relating to this agreement and incentives at any time.
