Our new sub-processors

Here is everything you need to know about the new sub-processors.

As of 14th January 2023 the following sub-processors will become Authorised Sub-Processors. They are all listed in version 1.6 of the Data Processing Agreement.

First of all, we have added two subsidiaries of Famly (Famly Ltd. and Famly Inc.) because certain employees in our UK and U.S office need to assist with customer support. There is no personal data actually being transferred to another server the UK and/or U.S, but the personal data will be accessible to certain employees there.

Secondly, we are adding the following new sub-processors:

  • Rsync.net Inc. - we will use this provider for backing up your data. We ensure to encrypt the data with a private key before we send it for backup. The backup provider does not have access to the key to decrypt the data, so they won’t be able to see any of the data. The backups will be stored on servers in Switzerland, which is a country of adequacy according to the European Commission. Meaning, the data protection legislation provides protection adequate to the GDPR.
  • Planhat AB - we will be using this provider for customer success and support services. The data processing will be located in Sweden and Ireland.
  • Google Cloud EMEA Limited - we will be using this provider in order to offer you the opportunity to allow parents/guardians to translate certain texts within the Famly Platform. The processing will be located in the EU region, and this sub-processor will only apply to you if you opt-in for these services. This is an exciting feature that we are developing now.
  • Zoom Video Communications Inc. - services provider allowing us to take your call. The processing will be located in Germany.

Thirdly, you may already be using Famly Pay and accepted Stripe as a sub-processor when accepting the Famly Pay terms. However, for clarity we are mentioning Stripe in the Data Processing Agreement. Note, it only applies to you if you have opted in for Famly Pay and accepted the Famly Pay Terms.

You have the right to object to these new sub-processors until the end of 27th December 2022. You can do so by contacting support@famly.co. If you do not object, we assume that you are happy with them.
