Early Childhood Author, Speaker, and Trainer

Kate Woodward Young, M.Ed., PCC, is a coach, author, keynote speaker, and business strategist with more than 30 years in early childhood and afterschool.

She has worked in nearly every seat in the field: pre-K and out-of-school time teacher, family child care provider, center director, multi-site school-age program manager, and owner of a substitute service. She later served as Executive Director of the Oklahoma Association for the Education of Young Children and the Texas Afterschool Association, and as a business analyst with the SBA.

Kate created director credentialing and administrator development programs that have prepared more than 4,500 directors. She has co-authored 11 books on business operations, staffing, enrollment, finance, and professional practice, including More Than Tuition, and several are used as textbooks in director credentialing programs. She is also the founder and host of the Childcare Conversations podcast, an ICF Professional Certified Coach, and an Afterschool Ambassador Emeritus with the Afterschool Alliance.

You’re posting in every Facebook group. You’ve created a million flyers. So why is your enrollment so light?

Kate Woodward Young has spent years helping childcare programs fill their classrooms, and she's noticed a pattern. Programs are posting more than ever, but a lot of that content is generic, cluttered, or built from the same templates and AI flyers every other center is using. Families have learned to scroll right past it.

In this episode of Tiny Chair Academy, Kate joins us to cover the marketing basics that still work. We'll talk about how your educational philosophy can (and should!) match your branding, how to turn current families into your best ambassadors, what the "grocery store pitch" is, and what your waitlist (or lack of one) is really telling you about your rates.

You'll also leave with a ready-to-use AI prompt Kate built for directors, so the tools can help you sound like your program and not like everyone else.

Join us October 15. Feeling bold? We might ask folks to come off mute and share what’s working (or not!) for them to get Kate’s immediate advice.
