You know the classics. The Very Hungry Caterpillar. The Little Engine That Could. Oh, the Places You’ll Go!
There are thousands of lesson plans and activities you can find online that use children’s literature to help young children understand themselves, others, and the world around them.
But what if we’re missing a whole other way to experience those same books? What if the stories we share with children have something to say to adults, too?
Kimberlee Burt Hendricks has been reading children’s literature with children and adult audiences alike for more than 20 years, exploring the surprisingly complex ideas that can live within the simplicity of a story.
In this episode of The Tiny Chair Academy, you’ll experience a few stories together and explore how picture books can become playful and powerful invitations to reflect, connect, see things differently, and spark conversations that matter.
Come ready to rediscover what might be waiting for you inside the pages. Join us September 29 - and bring your favorite childhood book. We might just ask about it!
