You don't have a community until everyone feels they belong. But, belonging doesn’t just happen. It’s intentionally built.

So how do you create a childcare program where children, families, staff, and neighbors all feel truly seen, valued, and included - no matter their background?

In this live session, ECE experts and advocates, Dr. Anissa Eddie and JaneAnn Benson will share how their work has supported the Boston Square Early Learning Center, a place-based childcare center, and community initiative, built around belonging.

You’ll hear fresh ideas and practical examples on how to:

  • Learn about the unique individuals and stories within your community
  • Support staff in feeling connected and empowered
  • Foster open, trust-based communication with families
  • Create environments where every child feels safe and celebrated

What you’ll take away:

  • A clear framework for identifying who makes up your community
  • Concrete strategies to strengthen belonging at every level - from neighborhood partnerships to daily classroom routines
  • Practical tips you can put into action right away at your center
  • Feeling inspired and equipped with tools to nurture a culture of belonging, inside and outside your childcare center’s walls.
