We were joined by Julian Grenier on behalf of the Department of Education, as well as Ofsted’s Wendy Ratcliff and Phill Minns to discuss the new Development Matters and inspection framework.
In the one hour session, Julian (the author of the new Development Matters), as well as Phil Minns and Wendy Ratcliff (two of Ofsted’s leading early years figures) answered questions on both the new Development Matters framework, and the new Early Years Inspection Framework, focusing on what's changed, the need to spend less time focused on paperwork, and why the changes were needed.

During the one hour session, our speakers covered a range of topics including how the new Development Matters will impact early years settings when it comes into effect next year. As well as the way Ofsted inspections have changed, with a reinforced emphasis on what’s best for the child, not the amount of paperwork.
